What this tool shows
This WHOIS lookup uses RDAP — the structured, modern replacement for legacy WHOIS — to fetch a domain’s registration data directly in your browser. For any registered domain you get:
- Registrar — the company the domain is registered through, with a link to it.
- Key dates — when it was registered, last updated, and when it expires (with days remaining).
- Name servers and DNSSEC status.
- Status codes — locks like “client transfer prohibited” that protect the domain.
- An abuse contact where the registry publishes one.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between WHOIS and RDAP?
RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) is the modern, structured, JSON-based replacement for legacy WHOIS. It returns the same registration data — registrar, dates, name servers, status — in a consistent format, which is what this tool uses.
Can I see who personally owns a domain?
Usually not. Since GDPR, most registrars redact personal registrant details. You will reliably see the registrar, key dates, name servers and status, and often an abuse contact, but rarely the individual owner.
How do I check when a domain expires?
Enter the domain and read the Expires row — the tool also shows how many days remain and highlights domains expiring within 30 days.
Is my lookup private?
The tool has no backend and stores nothing. The domain you look up is sent to the public RDAP service for that registry, exactly as any WHOIS query would be.
Why does a domain return no record?
The domain may be unregistered, or its TLD may not yet run an RDAP service. Enter the registered domain (example.com), not a subdomain or URL.
