How to check DNS propagation

Enter a domain and pick the record type you changed (for example A or MX). The tool queries several public resolvers at once and tells you whether they agree. If they differ, some resolvers are still serving the old cached value and the change has not fully propagated yet.

Propagation speed is governed by each record’s TTL. Lowering the TTL a day before a planned change means resolvers pick up the new value much faster.

How long does DNS propagation take?

It depends on the record’s TTL. Resolvers cache answers until the TTL expires, so a change can take anywhere from a few minutes to 24–48 hours to be seen everywhere. Lowering the TTL before a planned change speeds this up.

How does this checker work?

It queries the same record from several public resolvers (Cloudflare, Google and DNS.SB) at once and highlights whether they agree. If they differ, the change has not yet propagated everywhere.

Is this a per-country propagation map?

No. Major public resolvers are anycast, so this is a resolver-consistency check rather than a geographic map. It reliably catches the common case where one resolver still serves an old value.
