How It Works
Drag and drop your PDF or click to browse. It is processed entirely in your browser — never uploaded.
Choose JPG or PNG, set resolution (1×–4×) and quality, and convert all pages or a custom range.
Preview the rendered pages, then download one image or all pages as a ZIP.
JPG or PNG — Which Should You Choose?
JPG (JPEG) uses lossy compression and is ideal for photographic or scanned pages where a smaller file matters. The quality slider lets you trade sharpness for size.
PNG is lossless, so it keeps text edges, line art, and screenshots perfectly crisp — at a larger file size. Pick PNG when clarity matters more than file size, and JPG when you need a compact image to email, upload, or embed.
Why Convert a PDF to an Image?
Turning a PDF page into a JPG or PNG makes it easy to drop into a slide deck, embed in a web page or blog post, attach to a chat, or share on social media — anywhere a PDF would not display inline. Rendering at a higher resolution (2×–4×) gives you print-quality images; a lower scale keeps files small for the web.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I convert PDF to JPG or PNG?
Choose JPG for photos and scanned documents where a small file size matters — JPEG uses lossy compression you can tune with the quality slider. Choose PNG for pages with sharp text, line art, screenshots, or transparency needs: PNG is lossless, so text edges stay crisp, at the cost of a larger file. This tool supports both — pick the format before converting.
What resolution or DPI should I use?
Use the resolution slider (1× to 4×) to control output size. 1×–1.5× is fine for on-screen use and web. For printing or high-detail work, use 2×–4× — higher scale renders each page at more pixels, producing a sharper image at a larger file size. The pixel dimensions of the output are shown after conversion.
Can I convert only specific pages?
Yes. Switch "Pages" to Custom range and enter pages like 1-3, 5, 7-9. Only those pages are rendered and included in the download. Leave it on "All pages" to convert the whole document.
How do I download all pages at once?
When you convert more than one page, the download button produces a single ZIP containing every page as a numbered image (page1, page2, …). For a single page it downloads the image directly. You can also download any individual page from its preview.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser using pdfjs-dist to render pages to a canvas, then exports each canvas as an image. Your file never leaves your device, so it is safe for confidential documents.
Why is the output an image instead of selectable text?
Converting a PDF page to JPG or PNG rasterises it — the page becomes a picture of the content, so text is no longer selectable. If you need selectable text, keep the original PDF; use image conversion when you need to embed a page in a slide, document, website, or social post.
