Vision Lab is a free browser-based photo editor built around a Fabric.js canvas engine. It offers 16 filter presets, full manual adjustment sliders, selective blur, a text studio, decorative frames and shape overlays — and exports as PNG without ever sending your image to a server. This guide explains each feature and when to reach for it.
16 filter presets
The Filters tab offers 16 one-click presets modelled on popular photography filters: Clarendon (boosted contrast and saturation), Moon (full grayscale), Juno (punchy yellows and contrast), Vintage (sepia warmth and reduced saturation), Lo-Fi (deep contrast, purple shadows), and 11 more. Each preset is a named combination of the six adjustment parameters — brightness, contrast, saturation, sepia, grayscale and blur — so you can apply it as a starting point and then fine-tune with the sliders beneath.
Manual adjustments
Below the presets are six range sliders:
- Brightness — lift or darken the entire image (−100 to +100)
- Contrast — increase or soften the difference between lights and darks
- Saturation — push colours vivid or fade them toward grey
- Sepia — add warm brownish tone for a vintage or film look
- Grayscale — partially or fully desaturate (0 = colour, 100 = full black-and-white)
- Blur — apply a uniform Gaussian blur across the whole image
Adjustments apply in real time as you drag. The reset button beside each slider returns that parameter to zero independently, so you can isolate changes without losing the others.
Selective blur
The Selective Blur tab lets you draw a freehand mask over the area you want to blur while leaving the rest sharp. This is useful for simulating depth-of-field, obscuring a face or plate number, or separating a subject from a busy background. Blur intensity is adjustable separately from the global blur slider.
Text Studio
The Text tab adds a draggable text layer to the canvas. You choose the font (Inter, Roboto, Outfit, Monospace, Serif or Cursive), size, colour, and position. The text object is selectable on the canvas — drag to reposition, use the Bring to Front / Send to Back buttons to layer it correctly over or under other elements, and delete it independently without affecting the rest of the image.
Decorative frames and backgrounds
The Frames tab wraps your image in a styled background layer. Nine background styles are available — Crystal Clear (blue-purple gradient), Sunset Glow, Deep Space, Neon Mint, Glassy Blue, Cyberpunk, Carbon Fiber, Polka Dots and Nordic Gray. Frames are useful for social media posts where you want a consistent aesthetic border rather than a plain white background.
Decorative shapes — circle, square, triangle, star and message bubble — can be placed on top of the image as vector overlays with a custom fill colour.
Undo/redo and export
Every action is tracked in a history stack. The undo and redo buttons in the toolbar step through that history so you can experiment without committing. When you're happy with the result, Export PNG downloads a full-resolution PNG file to your device. The file is generated entirely in the browser — no round-trip to a server.
Privacy: no uploads
Vision Lab loads your photo via the browser's File API and renders it on an HTML5 Canvas. The image data never leaves your machine. This makes it safe to edit personal photos, confidential design mockups, or anything you wouldn't want stored on a third-party server.
